Why l'll Always Choose True to Life Color
Every photographer has a signature. Some go for the hazy storybook glow that feels dreamy and cinematic. Others love that rich sepia tone that looks like it belongs in an art gallery. And honestly, I love those styles. They are beautiful, emotional, and full of artistry. But for me, there is something magnetic about true to life color. It is grounded and timeless, but it also lets personality shine through. Choosing color is a choice to be seen. It is expressive and confident. Not everyone feels their best in neutrals, and that is what makes it so special. Color tells the story of who you are in that moment. There is something about real color that feels honest. The soft greens in a late summer field, the warm gold wrapping around a family at sunset, the pink that blooms in a toddler's cheeks after a laugh. I live for those tones. I do not want to hide them behind a heavy filter. I want to draw them out, enhance them, and make them sing.
The Wall Hanger Photographer
You will not see a lot of open space or wide empty fields around my subjects. Well, of course I am an outdoors girly, so yes, we will absolutely get those scenic shots in the most beautiful parks and preserves around. But even then, my focus will always stay on the passion, energy, and connection of the people right in front of me. I am a full frame photographer. I shoot close, connected, and intentional. I love when the frame feels full and alive, when every inch tells part of the story. Every session is a blend of what is posed and what is felt. The small gestures, the laughter. I want every gallery to look like real life at its best, authentic, vibrant, and beautifully composed. Because I believe photographs should exist beyond the scroll. They belong in frames, in print, and in homes that are lived in. And yes, I am absolutely the photographer for the wall hangers. The ones that end up in frames, on grandma's fridge, and splashed across those holiday cards that everyone secretly keeps longer than they admit. I love the guided posing, the
"intentional" candid, and the up close milestone headshot that captures that exact age and stage. Those classic images matter. They are the ones that anchor your story.
The landscape sets the mood, but the emotion carries the frame. Even if I shoot in the same location twice, the session will never look the same. Each family brings its own rhythm, energy, and story to the space. The way your kids explore, the way you hold each other, the way you laugh together… those are the things that shift the feel completely! Every session is built around the family at the center of it. The true to life color edit you receive is specifically curated to match the unique tone and emotion that radiate from your photos. And yes, I am absolutely the photographer for the wall hangers. Timeless
That is the beauty of true to life color. It does not chase trends, yet it never feels static. It evolves with light and emotion but always stays rooted in authenticity. Natural light brings it to life in a way that is impossible to recreate. The glow of a cloudy morning, the softness of an overcast day, the golden shimmer right before sunset. It is modern, cinematic, and completely real. True to life color, to me, is editorial in its honesty. It is refined but approachable, clean but full of energy. It is for the people who value photographs that look effortless but feel intentional. Art made from light, emotion, and connection. That is where my work lives.
